James co-founded DIY ( “Do It Yourself”) Coaching, an alternative approach to traditional instructional coaching that develops teachers as coaches for themselves and one another through the use of classroom video.
James Likis is a former math teacher at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Boston and a graduate of the Boston Teacher Residency. While in the classroom, James took on a variety of leadership roles, from leading the Burke's Math Team to facilitating cross-sector collaboration through multiple grants to participating in Stanford University's Hollyhock Fellowship, all with a focus on improving instruction to better serve students. All of these efforts led to James co-founding DIY ( “Do It Yourself”) Coaching, an alternative approach to traditional instructional coaching that develops teachers as coaches for themselves and one another through the use of classroom video.
